The Mountaineer Inn looks like it would be more at home in Cherokee, but you can find it right through the tunnel leaving downtown Asheville, just down the street from an Olive Garden and an ABC Store.

Built in 1939, the motel is home to an amazing neon sign that features a hillbilly with a corncob pipe, a rifle, patched clothing, and bare feet.

There are two additional hillbillies sitting on top of the motel as well as an old lady that was modeled after Li'l Abner's Mammy Yokum.
