As we were gearing up for the launch of Carolina Music Fridays, we were a little stressed. Every week, we plan to use this feature to spotlight a different North or South Carolina music artist on Strange Carolinas.

The question was... where do we begin?

Do we start off with a band most everyone knows, like Hootie or Charlie Daniels?

Begin with someone from the Chapel Hill scene of the '80s or '90s?

Go the Christian rock route with NEEDTOBREATHE?

Or do we run the risk of alienating everyone and launch the new feature with antiseen?

Instead, we decided to kick things off with one of our favorite NC bands, Bicycle Face!

Bicycle Face is a trio from Greensboro that consisted of guitarist Mitchell McGirt, bassist Brian Huskey (whom you may recognize from his numerous film & television roles), and drummer Chris Longworth. Bicycle Face was only together for six years, from '88 to '94. During that time, the band released one album (Trust & Obey) and several 7-inches. In 2008, the band released The Remastered Bastards, a collection of songs from back in the day that never made it onto an official release.

So let's kick off Carolina Music Friday's with "The Hall Of Unappealing Food" from Bicycle Face's The Remastered Bastards. Enjoy!
