After seventeen days, Lenoir's Carolina Burger outlasted the field of sixty-four North Carolina restaurants and can now claim the title of Best Burger in North Carolina after besting Mount Airy's The Loaded Goat. In the Finals match-up against The Loaded Goat in the Strange Carolinas North Carolina Burger Bracket tournament, Carolina Burger received 77.2% of the popular vote.

  4. Airport Drive In in Madison,NC has the best Homemade Burger ever. Try one along with a Mountain Dew Special. Umm. Yummy.

  6. Interesting list. I’m surprised to see some favorites like Brooks’, Hops, Al’s, and Bang Bang Burgers go down so fast.

    I’d be curious to see some new kids on the block, like Barcelona, Ace No 3, or Harriet’s be added to the mix.

    Are food trucks eligible? There’s one called Bae’s Burgers that is legit. How about fancy restaurants? Some like Reid’s fine foods or the Crunkleton, but the Big Daddy at Kid Cashew remains one of my favorites.

    Still, it’s a good list with some places I have not been to that I’d like to try.
