Some horror movie villains become horror movie villains due to tragic accidents that send them over the edge and lead them to killing sprees.

This is not that kind of story.

James A. Reid had his foot severed by a freight train on November 25, 1893. He could have easily become the murderous peg-legged monster in Train Wreck, hellbent on revenge by murdering engineers seconds after uttering his catchphrase, "You've reached the end of the line!"

Instead, Reid had the foot buried in the Old Lutheran Cemetery in Salisbury. He even had a footstone headstone made for it.

Unfortunately, things must have soured between Reid and his severed appendage because when Reid died several years later, he was buried at Trading Ford Baptist Church, about 7 miles away from his famous foot.
