In its heyday, I bet tons of people stopped off at the Warrior Motel motor lodge. Now? It appears it's Teresa's Treasures, or at least that's what it was when we visited back in the summer. Teresa (assuming that's her real name), keeps most of her treasures underneath the carport, but the real treasure here is the awesome Warrior Motel neon sign.

  1. My aunt and uncle owned the motel across the road from the Warrior (Laney's). Spent many summer days in the Warrior pool and restaurant in the early 60's.

    3. My grandaddy. Was a Laney. When I was a kid I thought Cherokee was the only place people vacationed . We would stay a week every summer. My grandaddy and Mr laney became friends. They looked a lot alike always have been told all Laneys are kin. Mr and Mrs laney where great folks. How I miss those days would go across the road to swim

    1. October 2021 street view Laney's building & sign are still there. Google maps identifies the building as "Grass Kicking Lawn Service".

Looks like wherever the pool was at the Warrior has been eaten by kudzu.

  3. Grew up swimming in the pool at the Warrior. My grandparents lived on the hill right above the Warrior. My grandmother would take up down to swim. I think they charged her a quarter for us to swim as long as we wanted. Great memories.
