On August 25, 2016, a new Moe's Southwest Grill opened at Friendly Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. To celebrate the occasion, they gave a year's worth of free burritos to the first 100 customers. Luckily for us, the News & Record's Kate E. Queram was there to snag some free burritos while live tweeting the festivities:

I am the 11th person in line and also apparently the only morning person. 😬 come be my friend and also get free burritos FOR A YEAR— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
A security van just drove by. I waved at the driver and he waved back. I fear this may be my only human interaction all morning.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
I have now been here for 30 minutes, have made no friends, and my phone is at 62 percent. GREENSBORO. COME HANG.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016

UNORTHODOX HAPPENINGS: we're getting a 30-minute break while they power wash. EVERYONE IS GONE. We got placeholder cards.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
Using the power-washing break for coffee. Won't make anyone like me more (am chatty without caffeine) but it's good. pic.twitter.com/hfq2kbsmbC— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
That is code for six splendas btw— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016

My one line friend hasn't come back yet. One woman has taken her shoes off. I remain the most excited person here.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
The second man in line declines to give his name. I suspect he's ditching work for free burritos. An American hero.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
Worth noting: it's August and its daytime and I'm outside so I'm officially suffering for my art here— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
I smell a campfire and hope someone is turning this into a tailgate. If so I've got first in beer pong #profeshtweets— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016

There are now 51 people in line. I think this makes me an early adopter. Burrito-line hipster, if you will.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
There's a group of moms here with their small children. They're the real heroes.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016

I was hoping a cheer would go up once everyone realized we are the chosen few but nothing happened— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
I cheered internally while simultaneously mourning the fun we all could have had here today— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016

"I've been waiting for this day my whole life!" someone says. He's joking, but it's the closest I've come all day to feeling understood.— Kate E. Queram (@KateElizabethNR) August 25, 2016
