When we first read about Pete Kohman's T. Rex in The Charlotte Observer, it rocketed to the top of our Places To Visit Next Time We're On I-77 list. According to the Observer, Kohman constructed the 28-foot long, 12-foot tall T. Rex from the remains of his above-ground pool and erected it in his front yard. Awesome, right? Here was the Observer photo of the dinosaur:

Unfortunately, we didn't get to the Places To Visit Next Time We're On I-77 list until this past weekend. When we pulled up to Kohman's home, we saw this:

Unless the T. Rex is really good at hiding, he's no longer there. While there is a really awesome pterodactyl made out of what we assume are the same above-ground swimming pool remains, there is no T. Rex. Maybe the pig living in the front yard ate it? We don't know.
