We couldn't find much information online about the giant motorcycle parked in front of Fun Cycles in Valdese, so we spoke with owner Willie Bradshaw who told us a little bit about the cycle's history:
"It was made up in the mountains by Larry Sparks, out of Spruce Pine. I bought it from him on a whim. I went up there trail riding with those guys and I was changing clothes when the guy that worked for me said, 'Man, he's got a motorcycle for sale.' I said, 'Man, I got 50 motorcycles. What are you talking about?' He said, 'Yeah, but this is a big one. You need to go down there behind the building and look at it.' So I went down there and looked at it and said, 'I'll be danged. That's pretty cool. But I don't need it.'

I came home and I kept thinking about it. I said, 'I've wasted more money than this before. I believe I'll buy it.' So I bought it. My intentions were to put it in the parade and let two or three people sit on it with their dirt bike outfits on and throw out candy. That didn't work too good. My wife got run over by the thing and hurt her leg. Lucky she didn't get hurt real bad. In turn, they quit throwing out candy at the parades, too. They were afraid the kids would come out and maybe get hit."
