We had heard their music. We had spoken with them on the phone. Still, we didn't know what to expect from a Glam Skanks show.

Now we know: prepare to have a hell of a time, sing yourself hoarse, and start counting down the days until they come back to town.

Los Angeles-based Glam Skanks are Ali Cat on vocals, Veronica Volume on guitar, Millie on bass, and Cassie on Drums. On September 22nd, the Glam Skanks were at the Fillmore in Charlotte, NC to get the crowd ready for Adam Ant.

They might have done too good of a job. By the end of their set, many in the crowd had nothing left to give.

From the opening chants of "G-L-A-M," it was obvious the Glams weren't there just to warm up the crowd. They were there to win over the crowd and make it their own. And they did.

Through their forty-five minute set, the Glam Skanks played a high-energy, blistering show. The band owned the stage, pouring everything into their glammed-up punk songs. Their in-you-face performance featured many songs from their Glitter City album, including fan favorites "Bad Bitch" and "Fuck Off," during which Ali accentuated the chorus with double middle fingers.

If the Glam Skanks show up in your town, we highly recommend checking them out. We hope they come back to Charlotte in May for Carolina Rebellion!
