Has it really been nearly eight years since Sleigh Bells kicked in the front door and introduced themselves to the entire world with the release of their incredible debut Treats? Since then, the band has built a reputation for their killer live shows as was evident by the packed house at Raleigh's Lincoln Theatre on Sunday night.

The band opened with "Blue Trash Mattress Fire," the lead-off track from their recent Kid Kruschev EP, which served as a perfect show opener with its slow build. When Derek Miller's guitars hit hard halfway through and Alexis Krauss started belting out the words, the crowd went insane.

This was the best show I've seen in a long time. Miller was a workhorse, standing in the shadows for much of the night, serving up hard-hitting crunching licks from his guitar.

Meanwhile, Krauss was in the spotlight, jumping around, into and out of the crowd, unbelievably managing to hit every note of her sugary-sweet delivery.

The crowd was amazing, singing along to every word. Along the way, the band played new tracks as well as fan favorites like "Tell 'Em," "Bitter Rivals," "Comeback Kid," and "Infinity Guitars."

For the band's finale of "Rill Rill," Krauss had the stage all to herself. At least at first. She soon pulled eight or nine folks up on stage to dance and sing with her.

It was the perfect ending to a perfect show. If Sleigh Bells rolls into your town, you MUST go check them out.
