Nashville's Nightly will perform at Charlotte's Neighborhood Theatre on February 20th and at Kings Raleigh on February 21st. We caught up with Jonathan Capeci, who spoke with us about touring, his dream music festival, and more.

Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
Always a hard question. We usually say it's good music to drive to.

What's the first concert you attended?
Phil Keaggy!

What's the strangest gig you've played?
An outdoor BBQ at a college. We just played while a bunch of people ate wings. It was weird.

What's the craziest thing a fan has done at one of your shows?
One time a girl slammed one of us up against a wall and kissed us. Def didn't see that coming.

What's the first thing you look for when you hit a new town?
We all like Vietnamese food so that happens a lot. We also like any kind of vintage/local clothing stores.

How do you spend your days on the road?
It's a lot of time driving from city to city. but we spend a lot of time writing whenever we aren't sound checking or doing something for the show.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?
We usually huddle together beforehand and have a quick chat/prayer right before we hit the stage.

What's some advice you'd give to a band embarking on its first tour?
Bring lots of clean underwear and get some good headphones if you need to create your own little quiet place in the van!

Final question: You're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five acts do you choose and what song do you all perform together for the final jam?
Oh wow. Great question. U2, No doubt, The Police, Lady Gaga, and Thin Lizzy. I have no idea what we'd sing. Ha, maybe "Every Breath you Take."
