After nearly five weeks of voting, the readers of Strange Carolinas have named the Brown Mountain Lights North Carolina's Best Urban Legend. The Devil's Tramping Ground came in second place and the Beast Of Bladenboro came in third place.

For two weeks, readers of Strange Carolinas were invited to nominate their favorite North Carolina urban legends. From February 25th to March 15th, readers were invited to vote for their favorite urban legends from the ten entries that received the most votes during the nomination period.

Here were the ten finalists as determined by the readers of Strange Carolinas:
