New Years Day released their fourth album, Unbreakable, on April 26th. Three days later, they were performing at the Fillmore Charlotte as the opening act for Falling In Reverse so we had to check them out!

New Years Day hit the stage around 7:00 PM and kicked the crowd in the face with their metal. Singer Ash Costello's performance was as fiery as the right side of her hair. She commanded the stage and the crowd loved it. The band sounded great and had the fans going crazy with their cover of Pantera's "Fucking Hostile."

Because they were on a four-band bill, it was an abbreviated set. They managed to play three songs off their new album, a pair from 2015's Malevolence, and covers of Kelhani's "Gangsta" and the aforementioned "Fucking Hostile."

Side note: one thing that really impressed me about New Years Day, besides their awesome set, was their hustle. They were at Manifest Discs on the day of the show, signing CDs and albums. Also, before the second band started performing, New Years Day were out in the crowd, signing autographs and taking selfies with fans. Awesome.

SET LIST
"Come for Me"
"Kill Or Be Killed"
"Gangsta" (Kehlani cover)
"Skeletons"
"Fucking Hostile" (Pantera cover)
"Shut Up"
"Defame Me"
