In early 2019, Mocksville chainsaw artist Jeff Hursey created an eight-foot-tall Bigfoot and the whole world lost its mind. Soon after he installed it by the side of the road in Mocksville, people started calling the Davie County Animal Shelter, reporting a Bigfoot with red glowing eyes. The media picked it up, ran with it, and it received international attention.

We'll admit it. The Bigfoot was pretty impressive. Not only that, but Hursey has created a display showing photos of the creation of the Bigfoot.

Included in the display is his own depiction of the events:
"On January 4, 2019 this carving was put on display as a novelty along with other carvings. On January 11, 2019 the Davie County Animal Shelter posted on Facebook asking for people to stop calling in, reporting sightings of Bigfoot on Pine Ridge Road in Mocksville with glowing red eyes, and thay [sic] stated it was not real. The news started to spread and soon after pictures, interviews, and videos of this Bigfoot has now been seen by people all across the USA. Go ahead take your picture with Bigfoot and share on Facebook."
