Star, The Center Of North Carolina? (Star, NC)

The town of Star claims to be the geographical center of North Carolina. They even had it etched on this wooden plaque that hangs over the town's library.

But we're not so sure...

See, there's a sign near the Carbonton Dam ruins that claims THAT is the geographical center of North Carolina.

So who's right?

One day, when we have more time and more money, maybe we'll try to settle it once and for all.
