The mall in Wilson is dying. We may be wrong, but we think the only stores that remain are a K&W Cafeteria and a Roses. But did you know the Wilson mall was dead before it even opened? Along with Concord Mall and Greenville Mall, Wilson Mall is one of three NC malls with cemeteries in its parking lot.
The Wilson Mall cemetery is in the parking lot on the back side of the mall (see the Google Maps image below). It has over 60 markers, with the oldest from 1863 while the most recent headstone was placed to honor someone who died in 2013.
