Did you know that you don't have to drive all the way to Yellowstone to see a geyser? We have one in North Carolina. True, it's manmade, but it still shoots 80 feet into the air. Old Fort's Andrews Geyser was built in 1885 to get folks travelling the rails to stop and stay at the Round Knob Hotel and also to commemorate the 120 individuals who lost their lives building the railroad. It was moved in 1911 after the hotel burned down and is now part of a public park in Old Fort.
