Concert Review: 100 gecs (Ritz Raleigh)

On May 2nd, 100 gecs brought their 10000 gecs Tour 2 to Raleigh's Ritz for a night of sweaty fun.



100 gecs is St. Louis duo Dylan Brady and Laura Les and they have released two albums, 1000 gecs and 10000 gecs, to date. Both albums have been loved by critics and fans alike and 10000 gecs' "Hollywood Baby," received a lot of play as Sirium XM's Alt Nation's Critical Cut this spring, The band mixes hyperpop, ska, and pop punk to achieve their unique sound.



Live, 100 gecs absolutely scorches. Amidst the smoke and strobes, 100 gecs blazed through twenty songs before the night was through. Along the way, the band played crowd favorites like "stupid horse," "Billie Knows Jamie," and "Doritos & Fritos." The highlight for me was hearing my favorite track, "Frog On The Floor."
