On Wednesday nihgt, Be Your Own Pet took the stage at Local 506 for the second US show of their Teenage Heaven World Tour ‘23 with Birthday Girl. Their show in Chapel Hill was their first show in North Carolina since their 2008 show in Asheville.

Birthday Girl kicked off the night with a very entrancing set. They mentioned during their set that this was their first ever tour and you would have never guessed. They had a phenomenal stage presence and I genuinely can’t stop thinking about Alice shredding on the cello.

The fans were excited to hear songs from Be Your Own Pet's new album Mommy but even more thrilled to hear classics they had been waiting for so long to hear live. So it pleased the crowd when they played a set of mostly their older hits. That being said, the biggest shocker of their set was closing the show by covering “Attitude” by Misfits.

The fans were thrilled to see Be Your Own Pet again for the first time in 15 years, and you could tell BYOP were excited to be back on stage again. They had an amazing stage presence and Jemina at one point even jumped down to sing from the pit. It was an intimate show so they also spent a lot of time talking to the audience and they even made several jokes about their split and that it wouldn’t happen again.
