They may have not been able to correctly pronounce Raleigh, but Friko was able to pump the Raleigh crowd up for Willis at Kings on Wednesday night. Kicking their set off with "Crimson To Chrome," the most popular track from their album that came out this February, Where We've Been, Where We Go From Here, the crowd was hooked from the start.

Their album Where We've Been, Where We Go From Here recently entered my rotation as my first introduction to Friko, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from their live show. There is a rawness to this album that delivers the emotion in each song. Hearing these songs live only maximized that emotion.

Not only did the trio deliver an emotion-evoking show, but their set was fun and energetic. Although they only had a nine-song set, they were able to make an impact with fans in that short amount of time. The stage at Kings is probably one of the smallest stages I have ever seen, but they used every inch of the stage moving around.

Every member of the trio played more than one instrument on stage, too. The bassist, David Fuller, played the keyboard for a song. During "For Ella," drummer Bailey Minzenberger played the guitar while lead singer/guitarist Niko Kapetan played the keyboard. They were genuinely everything you could ask of an opening act and I definitely witnessed them gain several new fans.
