Concert Review: Oliver Hazard And Proxima Parada (Cat's Cradle)

Oliver Hazard and Proxima Parada co-headlined at Cat’s Cradle last week, with Ben Chapman opening up their sets.

Oliver Hazard
Before the show, some of the band members hung around the merch table to chat with fans and friends. Everyone was so friendly, and the bands were very down-to-earth.

Ben Chapman
One thing I love about going to so many concerts is that I discover artists that I never would have found otherwise. For this show, that was Ben Chapman. I didn’t even know that he was opening the show, as there was not really any advertising for him, but I left and immediately put his music on all of my playlists.

Oliver Hazard
Oliver Hazard performed one of their newest releases, “Haunted,” and it has quickly become my favorite. Their music is the type that you listen to and forget all of your worries. Folks were swaying side-to-side and smiling the whole time.

Proxima Parada
During Proxima Parada’s set, Nico knocked everyone’s socks off (including his own, as he tapped his bare feet on the floor to the rhythm) with his amazing voice. A crowd favorite was “24 Brand New Hours,” in which the whole room was singing along to.

It’s easy to tell how close these bands have become while touring together. It’s just a big group of friends who are truly passionate about sharing their music with others.

Bella DiStefano splits her time between Graham, North Carolina and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. While home for the winter, she spends her days enjoying family time and photographing concerts while her friends sing along in the crowd.
