On Thursday night, when bodie walked into the Cat’s Cradle Back Room for his Murder My Ego Tour, he remarked briefly about the small crowd. “While there aren’t a lot of you, I really enjoy crowds like this, where it’s a more intimate experience.” Adding, “And tomorrow night is a sold old show in Charlotte.”

Throughout the night, bodie, whose full name is Bodie Kuljian, played selections from his 2024 album Happy To Be Here. The night opened with “God Did,” off that album and followed a little later by “Liar Liar,” “Know” and “Smile.”

bodie said, “do you want to hear a new song?” At this point, he sang “Say So,” which he released recently. He finished the night with an encore, “Good Ol’ Days,” which will be released in a couple of weeks.

bodie
His show is very upbeat as he mixes harmonies and rapping into his faith-based songs. bodie shares his faith while on stage and does not hide the fact that he is a Christian and singing for God.

Evan
On stage, bodie is backed by his drummer, Chuck, and guitarist Evan. During the 22nd season of NBC’s The Voice, bodie finished in second. One of the songs he sang on that show, he shared with the crowd towards the end of the night, a cover of Brandon Lake’s “Gratitude.”

bodie and Gracie Binion
For “Gratitude” he invited Gracie Binion to the stage to join him. Binion was the opener for the night, and stayed on stage to sing her song, “Goodbye Yesterday,” with bodie.

Gracie Binion
Binion was joined on stage by bodie’s band for her set. Her voice is fantastic on songs like “I Miss You,” Father’s House,” and a crowd favorite “Sold,” which had everyone singing along with her. All of the songs she sang were from her October 2024 release, I Miss You.

Gracie Binion
My favorite song of hers, she explained, was written and based on a poem that she found in her grandmother’s Bible, “Hidden In Obscurity.”
“You can tie my tongue and chain my hands
And You can keep my heart without demands
I’ll get out of the way of all Your plans
It’s You and me forever in this dance”

Gracie Binion
All in all, this was a fantastic night of worship and the size of the crowd really did not matter.
