On Saturday, June 21, 2025, country-folk fans gathered at Red Hat Amphitheater to watch the co-headliner show by Flatland Cavalry and Ian Munsick. Doors opened at 6:00pm and the venue quickly filled with cowboy hats, boots, and linen dresses.

Flatland Cavalry took stage while the sun was setting which made for a picturesque backdrop. The Texas-bred band played many of their well-known songs such as “Summertime Love” and “Missing You” from their 2015 EP. Humble Folks, FC’s debut studio album, includes the love song, “A Life Where We Work Out” which features Kaitlin Butts, lead singer Cleto’s wife. Kaitlin Butts was out on her own tour and couldn’t make it to Raleigh for the duet. However, the crowd stepped in to make her proud.

Many songs were from the band’s latest album, Wandering Star (2023), however they also played many covers. Their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” is a hit with fans. Flatland Cavalry also played George Strait’s “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” and Alan Jackson’s “Chatahoochie.” Later in the evening to end the night, Ian Munsick joined Cleto and the rest of the band on stage to pay tribute to the late Toby Keith by performing “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.”
Ian Munsick brought his own type of country-folk to Raleigh Saturday night. The singer- songwriter is from Wyoming. The majority of his songs pay homage to the West and his life growing up has been his inspiration. These songs include “Horses are Faster,” “Me Against the Mountain,” and “White Buffalo.”
Unless you have personally witnessed Munsick live, you may not know that he is quite the entertainer. Towards the end of his set, he sang verses of songs by Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Camila Cabello. The man is clearly a fan of pop music no matter the decade! It was a fun and lively set to kick off the rest of the evening.

Flatland Cavalry and Ian Munsick will part ways and play their own headlining shows and handful of festivals.
