"I WILL STILL BE A FREAK WHEN I'M DEAD!," King Tuff shouted midway throught his set before launching into "Freak When I'm Dead" from his 2008 album, King Tuff Was Dead. Maybe King Tuff was dead, but he and his career are very much alive these days!

King Tuff, a.k.a. Kyle Thomas, brought his MOO Tour to Kings Raleigh on Tuesday night. Named after his spectacular album of the same name, the tour stop found him rocking hard with the crowd eating it up, when they weren't busy mooing between songs.

Before the night was through, King Tuff tore through all of Moo and sprinkled in a few all-time hits like "Anthem," "Headbanger," and "Wild Desire," before encoring with an excellent cover of Tom Petty's "You Wreck Me." King Tuff was backed by a humorous bassist who told dad jokes as Thomas tuned his twelve-string Rickenbacker and an absolute beast on the drums, especially on songs like "Oil Change."

His tour will be going through May 23rd, so grab a ticket if you can!

Opening for King Tuff was Morgan Nagler, a singer-songwriter who released her debut album, I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It, on March 13th. Even though she's only has one album under her belt, Nagler isn't a freshman by any means. In addition to her acting career which found her guesting on shows like That '70s Show, Will & Grace, Frasier, ER, The Drew Carey Show, Home Improvement, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Punky Brewster, and many others, she has also co-written songs with Phoebe Bridgers ("Kyoto"), Kim Deal, HAIM, and more. That said, her debut album kicks major ass.

Despite being the opener, Nagler was still able to play seven of the eleven tracks from I've Got Nothing To Lose, And I'm Losing It and she also threw in a cover of Daniel Johnston's "Hey Joe." Armed with just an electric guitar, she quickly won over the audience and had them singing back-up with her by the end of the set.

Morgan Nagler will be opening for King Tuff through May 1st.

Strange Carolinas started as a hobby for Chris Hocker who often dragged his family to offbeat detours on family vacations. Hocker decided to start photographing and writing about these roadside attractions and in June 2014, launched Strange Carolinas with a story on Myrtle Beach's KISS Coffeehouse. In addition to chronicling over 400 attractions across the Carolinas, Strange Carolinas has also become an impressive music blog.
