In the same town that is home to a giant lizard creature and a man who sewed buttons on everything while he battled insomnia, you would think no one would even notice a topiary garden.

You'd be wrong because Pearl Fryar's Topiary Garden is a thing of beauty.

Admittedly, we probably didn't pick the best time to visit The Pearl Fryar Topiary Garden. It was the end of July and there hadn't been much rain in the preceding weeks, but the Garden still looked amazing. Everywhere you looked there were groomed plants, looking like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Interspersed between the topiaries were pieces of Mr. Fryar's non-living art, like his Coca-Cola and John Deere sculptures.

Next time you're headed down to Myrtle Beach, plan a detour to spend a few moments taking in the beauty of The Pearl Fryar Topiary Garden.
