You may wonder why a fiberglass cow with Chicago landmarks painted on its body would find a home in Wilmington, NC. According to the Star News, the cow was originally part of a Chicago art project called Cows On Parade, where Chicago artists painted 300 fiberglass cows that were then placed around the city. When the project had run its course, the father of the woman who had commissioned this particular cow had it moved to his office park in Wilmington in 2000, where it still stands today, protected by a gazebo.
