Wilson, North Carolina, is home to a lot of strange stuff. You'll find Oliver Nestus Freeman's dinosaur there and there's also a Sinclair dino in front of the children's museum. It has a cemetery in the parking lot of its abandoned mall, but it's also home to the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park. It's also home to a giant muffler man, but that's not the only giants you'll find around town if you look really hard.

Wilson is also home to giant California Redwood trees. While the ones in Wilson are nowhere near as huge as the ones you'll see in photos, they've ovly been around for almost 80 years, so they're still just babies (California Redwoods can live up to 2,000 years). According to Our State, Willie T. Lamm brought three six-foot Redwood trees from a nursery in Norfolk, VA and planted them in Wilson. Roots were shared with neighbros, and now there are at least ten California Redwoods.

While other cities in North Carolina have Redwoods, none are anywhere near the height or age of the ones you'll find in Wilson.
