Bully spent June opening for Pixies on the East coast, then about a month later announced a fall headline tour. After touring from August to October, she announced more dates. Out of all of the shows Bully headlined this year, four of them were in North Carolina. On Wednesday, I was lucky enough to catch her at Eulogy, a new venue in Asheville. It was my first time at the venue and I’m excited to go back!

Her setlist included every song from Lucky For You and a few from Feels Like, SUGAREGG, and Losing. She played an 18-song set and even came out for three more songs after the crowd demanded an encore. Two of the songs from her encore were performed without her band, one being an unreleased song and the other being a cover of “Jane Says” by Jane’s Addiction that the crowd went crazy for.

Bully’s June release, Lucky For You, was equally aggressive and vulnerable and her stage presence reflected that as well. She had no time for small talk as she ripped from the end of one song into the beginning of another. This was one of the last concerts that I was expecting a mosh pit to break out, but I was sorely mistaken. Bully’s energy was undeniable and the crowd was feeling it!
