Ty Myers performed on Thursday to a sold out crowd at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh. The Austin, Texas teenager has sold out nearly every show on his 2025 tour minus a few festivals. Myers is quickly making a name for himself and building his fan base.

Country-folk is gaining in popularity amongst the younger crowds. Many recent artists have TikTok, Instagram, and Spotify to thank for their wide-spanning coverage. Search for a “Sad Cowboy” playlist on Spotify and you will have a 3-hour-long road-trip-ready list of songs by Ty Myers, Sam Barber, Wyatt Flores, Tyler Childers, and 49 Winchester.

Myers played songs from his debut album, The Select. One of his most popular songs, “Ends of the Earth,” currently has a remarkable 1.4 million views on YouTube. A few weeks prior to the show, he released a new music video for his song, “Firefly.” It’s astounding how great of a songwriter he is at such a young age.

The quickly rising country artist is also an impressive guitarist. There are many songs such as “Can’t Hold Me Down” that are clearly influenced by musician John Mayer. This is no surprise as Myers covers “Man on the Side” from Mayer’s first live album, Any Given Thursday, produced in 2003.

Myers showcased his talent and covered many songs throughout the night. He performed “Shake the Frost” by Tyler Childers which was expected. But what the crowd didn’t anticipate was a performance of “Heartbreak Hotel.” With the crowd screaming, at one point I thought Elvis might have actually been in the building.

After playing songs from his debut album and a handful of covers, Myers thanked his fans and exited the stage. Of course, the crowd encouraged him to come back for an encore. He did not disappoint and appeased fans with a cover of “Feathered Indians” by Tyler Childers.

Ty Myers is going to take over the music scene quickly. He is already making impossible strides, and we will definitely see him headlining festivals and worldwide tours in the next few years.

Friend of Myers and fellow country artist, Braydon Watts, opened the show Thursday night. He revealed that he will be releasing a 9-track EP soon. His latest song, “Till You Leave Me Tomorrow,” is now available on all platforms. Watts performed his songs “Alone” and “Tightrope,” which fans sang along to and pulled out their phones to light the stage. There is really nothing better than a stripped-down show of just an artist and their guitar. Fans loved his cover of “I Never Lie” originally by another quick rising country star, Zach Top.

Watts continues to support Myers on a few more dates during the tour. Soon they will be stopping in Tennessee and South Carolina.
